ESB crews will be out in force throughout Clare this morning, after bad weather left hundreds of people here without electricity supply this morning.
This morning, the ESB's Power Check website listed 20 problems in its network in Clare, and a short time ago a company spokesman told Clare FM that 1,260 of their customers are without power.
Communities affected include O'Briensbridge, Clonlara, Parteen, O'Calalghans Mills, Kilkishen, Ennistymon, Corofin, Barefield and Doora but the ESB is hopeful that all issues will be resolved today.
Strong winds, lightning and heavy rains battered many parts of the country overnight, with Limerick, Kerry, Mayo, Donegal, Roscommon, Cork and north Dublin also affected.
A Status Orange wind alert remains in place until 10 o'clock this morning, and Clare County Council is urging all road users to be aware of falling debris.
