A group of Ennis second level students have received two prestigious Social Innovator awards
The Transition year from Coláiste Muire won first place in the Making Our World Healthier challenge prize with their project "C The Bright Side"- it also won first place in the Fun Raising challenge.
The tragic death of a school friend "Ciara" through cancer was the inspiration- the class decided to raise awareness about teenage cancer and raise money for CanTeen Ireland, an organisation which supports teenagers with cancer
The students raised over ten thousand euro through the project
Their teacher Margaret Harold says the students found the project helped them commemorate their late friend Ciara.
