Clare householders are being urged to shop around for their home heating oil.
A new survey has found that the dearest oil prices were recorded in Ennis and South County Dublin.
The National Consumer Agency found that the average price for a 1000 litres of kerosene was 670 euro but one retailer in Clare’s County Town was charging 696 while another in Dublin charged over 700.

The study also found that the cheapest prices were found in North County Galway and Sligo.
