SVP To Assist People In Clare To Live Poverty Free

The President of Clare St Vincent de Paul insists the charity’s new budget package would facilitate people in Clare and elsewhere to lead a life free of poverty.

SVP have proposed a new budget package which outlines five main pillars for eliminating poverty including adequate social welfare, access to decent work, quality public services, a just transition to a low carbon society and budgetary decisions assistance.

Last year in Clare, there were almost 3,400 requests for assistance from SVP which was a 20% increase on the previous year, with homelessness still accounting for a significant number of those calls.
