The ESB says a major power outage which left 2,500 homes in Ennis without power this morning, was caused by an incident involving a swan.
Crews were immediately mobilised when a fault was identified on the network at around 10 o’clock this morning, with power restored by 11.30am.
Investigations have since revealed that a swan collided with a power line, where it crosses the River Fergus, taking it down in the process.
