Taoiseach claims unfair treatment over bailout deal

 

The Taoiseach says Ireland is being treated unfairly by some EU member states in its efforts to get a cheaper bailout deal.

However Enda Kenny rejected opposition suggestions that the Government is no longer pursuing a cut in the interest rate on our EU/IMF bailout loans.

However he said a rate cut would not be renegotiated at the expense of Ireland’s low corporation tax rate.

Under pressure from the Fianna Fail leader Micheál Martin, Enda Kenny said he would raise his concerns about unfair treatment of Ireland at the next meeting of EU leaders.
