The Taoiseach Enda Kenny says the compensation scheme for the women of the Magdalene laundries will not become a "gravy train" for lawyers.
Mr Kenny defended the decision to make payments to the women without an admission of liability – saying the scheme had to be kept simple.

He also said the Government would consider including Summerhill in Co. Wexford under the terms of the scheme.
But he said both the government and the women were determined to ensure that lawyers are kept away from the money.
