The Taoiseach’s set to face his stiffest criticism yet from his own backbenchers when Fine Gael members meet this evening.
The weekly meeting of the Fine Gael parliamentary party will offer many backbenchers the first opportunity to question the Taoiseach directly on his handling of the John McNulty affair.

Some members have been further angered at Mr McNulty's withdrawal from the Seanad election, which has left the government without a majority in the upper house.
Meanwhile, the Irish Daily Mail is reporting that a neighbour and local party colleague of Enda Kenny was appointed to the board of the state education agency Solas.
