The Taoiseach has called for a calm and rational approach to the Clare Limerick Boundary issue as locals in Westbury and Shannon Banks vow to fight any change.
In an exclusive interview with Clare FM to mark the station’s 21 years of broadcasting, Brian Cowen said the people of South East Clare shouldn’t worry as he’ll be working to achieve what he called the "best outcome for everybody" .
There’s concern and some confusion in Clare as to whether the Limerick Local Government Committee’s recommendations to include parts of Clare in a new single Limerick authority will be ratified by government, with local councillors seeking clarification.

But the Taoiseach insists they’ll be taking the issues of all sides on board.
