TDs Case Adjourned At Ennis District Court

Mick Wallace and Clare Daly are due back before the District Court in Ennis next month after their trial for an illegal incursion at Shannon Airport was adjourned last evening.

Judge Patrick Durcan has heard that both TD's told Airport Police that they were making a political statement over the presence of US Military when they crossed the perimeter fence to inspect planes in July of 2014.

Witnesses including anti-war activist Ed Horgan of Shannonwatch, and Irish Times Security Analyst Tom Clonan have raised concerns that Ireland's Neutrality is being breached by the presence of US Planes and Weapons despite government assurances.

Judge Patrick Durcan has questioned whether the defence is going beyond the remit of the District Court but will hear evidence from Clare Daly and Mick Wallace themselves when the case resumes on March 10th.
