A number of TDs have staged a protest outside the Dáil – calling for the immediate release of Margaretta D’Arcy.
The 79-year-old anti-war activist from Galway was sentenced to three months in prison last month after she trespassed onto the runway at Shannon Airport.

She was protesting against the the use of Shannon as a stop over for the US Military.
Four TDs tied yellow ribbons to the gates of Leinster House this morning, in protest against Margaretta’s jail sentence.
