John O’Loughlin, with an address at Cecil St. in Limerick, was found guilty of his murder last year and today 19 year old Anthony Mason with an address at Bishop St. in Limerick will be sentenced for the manslaughter of 16 year old

At his sentencing hearing yesterday, the Central Criminal Court in Dublin heard that Mason had brought the knife with him to the house on the night in question, and it was this weapon that was used by O’Loughlin to stab him to death

However, Mason’s defence counsel argued that his client had foolishly become involved in someone else’s fight, and the court heard that he has no previous convictions.

Mr Justice Paul Carney will impose sentence at a hearing this morning.
