An 18 year old man is being questioned over an incident in Tipperary which has left another man critically ill in hospital.
The 66 year old suffered head injuries in a row with another man at his home at Kilcaroon in Ballyporeen just before quarter to three yesterday afternoon.
He was rushed to South Tipperary Hospital in Clonmel and later transferred to Cork University Hospital.
The scene of the incident has been sealed off for a technical examination.
The young man being questioned was arrested in Cahir and taken to the local Garda station where he's being held under section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.
Investigations are continuing, and any witnesses are being asked to contact Gardai.
