Tesco has confirmed its ended its contract for frozen burgers with Silvercrest as a direct result of the recent horsemeat scandal.
That contract was worth 15 million euro.

However it will continue to purchase fresh Irish beef,worth more than 100 million euro from other ABP companies, and it’s to begin discussions shortly with other Irish beef processors in relation to the sourcing of frozen burgers.
The company said its quite clear that Silvercrest used meat in Tesco products that did not come from the list of approved suppliers.
