Test flights for the proposed sea plane service takes place in Mountshannon today.
Harbour Air Ireland is seeking planning permission for a landing and mooring area for the service, which they say will improve connectivity, create jobs and boost tourism.
However the plans have been opposed by local angling, sailing and gun groups, who claim that the service could pose dangers to users of Lough Derg, and also harm it’s environment.
