South East Clare residents are awaiting test results on the local water supply today in the hope that recent floods haven’t lead to long term problems.
A precautionary boil notice is still in place in O’Briensbridge, Montpelier and Bridgetown after engineers discovered deterioration in the supply following recent floods.
Around 500 local residents are now relying on bottled water as a result, and say the local authorities in Clare and Limerick should have foreseen the problem due to the lack of adequate water and sewerage infrastructure.
