The first of tens of thousands of people are taking their seats at the FNB stadium in Johannesburg, to remember the life of Nelson Mandela.
Fifty-three serving heads of state, past leaders, royalty and celebrities are due at the official memorial service.

President Michael D Higgins and the Tanaiste Eamon Gilmore are representing Ireland and the Government.
At least 90,000 ordinary South Africans, liberated by their former leader, are also attending.
