Three Quarters Think There’s Serious Problem With Crime In Ireland

More than three quarters of people believe crime is a serious problem in Ireland, according to a new survey.

The Garda Public Attitudes survey of 6,000 people shows crime is seen as a serious problem nationally, but less believe it's an issue in their local area.

More than one in ten people have been the victim of crime in the last year.

The survey shows that 85 per cent have confidence in the Gardaí to do their job.

It also suggests that people want to see the force focus more on crimes against the person like sexual assaults and human trafficking.
