Changes to the planning laws in Clare could be the next step in the campaign against headshops.
Following the introduction of new laws banning the sale of legal highs and drugs alternatives, local campaigners in Ennis have said their fight isn’t over, as suppliers are expected to develop replacement products to get around the new laws.
Clare County Council and Ennis Town Council have been asked to tighten restrictions on the sale of such products by amending development plans and retail strategies, and Green Councillor Brian Meaney says his colleagues can make it more difficult for the operators of headshops in future.
