A Tipperary County Councillor has died after being hit by a car.
Councillor Willie Kennedy from Glastrigan Borrisoleigh was struck on the N80 in Portlaoise around half past eight last night.

He'd been attending a funeral when the accident happened.
The 64 year old was part of the Lowry team and represented the Thurles-Templemore municipal district.
Councillor Kennedy is survived by his wife and three children.
He was first elected to the local authority in 1985.
