The Tourism Minister Mary Hanafin says abolishing the levy was up for consideration if those opposed to it came up with ways of boosting visitor numbers here.
The Minister made the comments at Failte Ireland’s annual conference where she added that the tax had not yielded the revenue that had been expected due to the drop in passenger numbers.
