Trains will run on the Ennis-Limerick rail-line next week, for the first time in over 100 days.
Flooding at Ballycar near Newmarket on Fergus forced Irish Rail to close the line at the beginning of February, and the karst landscape in the area means the waters have been slow to recede.

This has now occured, however, and a test train will run on the line on Monday to ensure it is safe.
Passenger services should then resume on Tuesday morning – Jane Cregan of Irish Rail is confident this will occur.
