Tributes are being paid to Dr. Frank Counihan, following his death at the age of 91.

Much respected and admired, Dr. Counihan worked as a GP in Ennis for nearly 40 years, as well as in the former maternity section of Cahercalla Hospital
He was also instrumental in the establishment of the Community Hospital there with Brian McMahon and Fr. Harry Bohan.
Dr. Frank Counihan is survived by his wife Mimi, their children, and a large circle of family and friends.
He'll be laid to rest in Ennis on Thursday.
Fr. Harry Bohan described him as a "true legend" who made a real difference here in Clare.
