Tributes Paid To Late County Council Official

Clare County Council’s offices in Ennis will close for two hours tomorrow as a mark of respect to Council employee Betty Devanny, who passed away on Saturday.

Betty worked with the local authority in a range of roles over 36 years, and has been described by councillors as helpful, as a wonderful civil servent and as a pure lady as last evening’s Council meeting, which was adjourned in her honour.

Ms. Devanny, who is originally from Kilmaley, but had been living in Kilmurry, Sixmilebridge, is survived by her husband Sean, their daughters Niamh, Sinead and Orla and their son Sean Og.
