The pair could be facing further charges in light of his death.

Harry Dinan of 10 Waterpark Heights in Ennis and his nephew Kevin Dinan of 3 Clarehill, Clarecastle have been in custody since they were charged with assault causing harm to Brian Casey late last month.

The two accused appeared in court last week where Judge Joseph Mangan granted free legal aid to cover the cost of an independent pathologist’s report into the death of Brian Casey.

A post mortem examination carried out on behalf of the state revealed the Lissycasey man died from head injuries.

26 year old Brian Casey was laid to rest in his native parish last Friday.

Both Harry Dinan and Kevin Dinan are due back before Ennis district court morning, where Gardaí previously stated that more serious charges are likely in future.
