Steve Collins has described Roy's killers as 'cowardly evil men devoid of any semblance of mercy and humanity'.

He broke down in tears as he told the court in a victim impact statment that his son paid the ultimate price for standing up to the wrath of these people.

The 35 year old was killed by a single shot to the chest fired by a gunman who entered the Coincastle amusments at around midday on April 9th 2009.

It was a revenge attack ordered by Wayne Dundon who was in prison because Roy's father Steve had testified against him in an earlier trial. Nathan Killeen was the getaway driver.

The Collins family had to leave Ireland two years ago for their own safety – now Steve is hopeful they may be able to return;

In the meantime the two members of the gang they feared are beginning life sentences for murder
