Two Men Due In Court Following Bunratty Drug Seizure

Two men are due to appear in court this morning charged in connection with a drugs seizure in Bunratty.

Drugs with an estimated street value of 110,000 euro were seized after Gardaí stopped and searched a van in Clonmoney West on Wednesday.

Gardaí stopped and searched a van in Clonmoney West in Bunratty around 3.30 on Wednesday afternoon as part of an ongoing investgation into the illegal sale and supply of controlled drugs. 

During the course of the seach officers seized cannabis herb with an estimated street value of one hundred and ten thousand euro.

A 37 year old and 27 year old were subsequently arrested in connection with the incident and detained at Shannon Garda Station under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice Drug Trafficking Act.

They're due to appear before Ennis District Court this morning.

In a statement to Clare FM, An Garda Síochána say these operations use advanced analytical and intelligence methods to disrupt criminals and dismantle their networks.

They also say that drug seizures play a critical role in targeting the livelihood of criminals and reducing their ability to carry out illegal activities while helping to protect communities from the devastating impact of drugs and the associated criminality.  

Investigations are are ongoing.
