A triage nurse in the region’s main hospital has become UHL’s first staff member to receive the COVID-19 vaccine.
Rosaleen O Brien, who works in University Hospital Limerick’s emergency department, received the jab from Dr Catherine Motherway of the Intensive Care unit.
The HSE says the rollout of the vaccine to healthcare workers and nursing homes is being escalated this week following the delivery a further 40,000 doses two days ahead of schedule.
