UL Researchers Lead Calls For Gender Pay Gap To Addressed

Researchers at the University of Limerick are calling for legislation that would require employers to disclose the level of the gender pay gap at their companies.

It follows moves by the British Government to introduce legislation forcing employers with more than 250 employees to publish, on an annual basis, the difference between women’s and men’s earnings.

The proposal was made at a recent Gender Equality in Decision-Making conference in Dublin.

Dr. Christine Cross, Senior Lecturer in Personnel and Employment Relations at UL says the pay gap here is increasing and these measures could help reverse that.
