The UN Security Council has called for a ceasefire in Gaza – after an emergency meeting following the worst day of fighting in the latest conflict.
Another 16 Palestinians have been found dead – as the death toll passes 500 people.

Israel has denied reports by Hamas that an Israeli soldier had been kidnapped in Gaza, while US Secretary of State John Kerry will travel to Egypt today in a bid to bring an end to the fighting.
