Unprecedented Garda Strike Looks Set To Go Ahead

This week's unprecedented Garda strike looks set to go ahead, after the GRA rejected a deal late last night.

Public Expenditure Minister Paschal Donohoe said the government's disappointed that the 'substantial' offer was turned down.

The GRA's executive rejected this deal unanimously after days of talks with officials from the Department of Justice.

The package included the restoration of a 4-thousand euro allowance, and additional pay for time spent briefing colleagues before the start of a new shift.

More talks will happen later between the AGSI and Department officials, but for now, it seems the clock is ticking down to unprecedented strike action on Friday.
