The Clare President of the INTO has claimed that some classes in Ennis have up to 35 or 36 pupils.
The comments from Mullagh National School principal Sean McMahon show that 28.3% of Clare's primary school students, or 3,800 children are in classes of at least 30 pupils.

Department of Education figures show this is the fourth highest rate of any county in Ireland and the highest outside of Dublin's commuter belt.
