Mediation efforts to try and resolve the long standing violent traveller feud in Ennis will come under the spotlight today.
Ennis Town Council is employing the services of a mediator at a cost of 4000 euro a month following a number of violent incidents among feuding families in the town.
The long running disputes caused local shock after a number of high profile incidents including a public brawl on the Kilrush road in which one man was attacked with a machete and an incident involving a live grenade.
Ennis Town Council resumes today after the summer break and it will be the first time that councillors will have the opportunity to quiz officials on the mediation services.
