It's after there were half a dozen breaks of service in the local network last year, the latest of those on Christmas Day.
Issues have been experienced in Miltown Malbay itself, and also in nearby villages such as Quilty and Mullagh.
However, Irish Water now says it has allocated 2 million euro to replace water mains in the area, with the works beginning in the third quarter of this year.
