US embassies and consulates throughout the Middle East and North Africa will remain closed following a warning about a possible Al Qaeda terror attack.
The decision was taken yesterday to close 21 of its diplomatic offices until Saturday.
The UK, France and Germany have also closed its embassy in Yemen.
While a worldwide travel warning has also been issued to all US citizens.
