The commander of US forces in Afghanistan says the deployment of a huge bomb in the east of the country has achieved its purpose.
General John Nicholson claims it destroyed a ‘sanctuary’ for IS militants – killing 36 of them.
He says there’s no evidence of civilian casualties – and insists the fight is not against the Afghan people.
