Varadkar insists government remains committed to Crusheen stop

The Transport Minister insists the government remains committed to the development of the Crusheen Rail stop.

There are fears the project  could now be significantly delayed or shelved altogether after Leo Varadkar requested Iranrod Eireann to re look at the costings.

Earlier this year Clare County Council granted planning permission for the development which will link up with the existing Ennis-Athenry rail line, and consist of a new 90m platform, a 17 bay car park, bicycle shelter, a room for equipment and associated infrastructure.

And speaking at the official opening of the Oranmore rail stop this week Minister Varadkar indicated the North Clare station is still on track.
