VFI Warns Lack Of Christmas Business Could Spell The End For Some Pubs

Clare’s VFI Chair is warning that the lack of business over Christmas could be the death knell for many pubs.

Tánaiste Leo Varadkar has told publicans that it’s ‘unlikely’ bar will reopen properly in time for Christmas.

He said the country would likely be on Level 3 restrictions when the country comes out of lockdown meaning indoor dining would be banned, with limits of 15 people outdoors at pubs and restaurants.

Managing Director of Retail Excellence, Duncan Graham, says being closed for that length of time isn’t sustainable for many retailers.
