As the controversy regarding clerical child sex abuse continues, victims of institutional abuse are to be commemorated in Ennis.
Ennis Town Council is considering proposals for a sculpture in the town to honour the memory of those who suffered as children in religious institutions or in the Magdalen Laundries in Ireland in the past.
The sculpture depicting a young boy and girl may be placed near the County Museum and could cost 10 to 15,000 euro, but Labour Councillor Paul O’Shea is hopeful the project will proceed
