Clare’s Senator says we’ll face a challenge in regulating online gambling but it’s vital to tackle this “lethal tool” for those with addiction.
The government has approved the establishment of a gambling regulator, with powers to impose fines and issue licences to betting companies.
Provision will also be made by the authority to regulate in respect of the protection of vulnerable persons, such as those suffering from addiction problems.
