Adults eligible to cast their ballot in Co. Donegal on Arranmore, Gola, Inishbofin, Inishfree and Tory Island will all be going to the polls, ahead of the rest of the country on Thursday.
Tomorrow it’s the turn of islanders in Co. Mayo, while on Wednesday those in Galway West will vote.
Traditionally, people living on Ireland’s remote outposts vote first because of the concern that inclement weather might delay the transfer of their ballot papers to mainland count centers.
Meanwhile – the YES and NO sides will go head to head on the referendum in a Morning Focus Special on Clare FM today.
Local NO campaigners along with Businessman Declan Ganly will face government and opposition TDs at Clare FM studios from 9 o’clock
