At the Central Criminal Court in Limerick yesterday John O Loughlin pleaded not guilty to murdering Roman Vysochan but the 20 year old admitted to assaulting another teenager on the same date while18 year old Anthony Mason pleaded not guilty to the murder and assault charges.
An application by the defence to have the two accused men tried separately was refused by Mr Justice Paul Carney.
