Mick Wallace has stepped down as a member of the Dáil’s technical group.
The Wexford TD’s embroiled in controversy after admitting he knowingly withheld VAT payments.

He’s now settled with Revenue for 2.1 million euro – but says it’s unlikely to ever be paid because his Company is insolvent.
Earlier the Ceann Comhairle also refused Mr Wallace speaking time in the Dáil to address his tax affairs – another request has now gone to the Government Chief Whip to accommodate him.
Chief Whip of the Technical Group Catherine Murphy says she made it clear to Mr Wallace he couldn’t remain a member – but she’s refused to say he should quit his Dáil seat.
