There are warnings that Ireland is facing a nursing crisis if all professionals are not paid equally.
Those who graduated between 2011 and 2015 did not receive an incremental credit for their internship and earn up to 1,400 euro less than their colleagues.

The nursing unions will protest outside the Dáil today before meeting with Health Minister Simon Harris to call for this credit to be restored.
Liam Doran, General Secretary of the INMO, says the Government won't be able to entice nurses home from abroad without resolving the issue.
