Motorists are being urged to exercise extreme caution on Clare’s roads again today following another night of heavy rain.
In particular Gardaí in Kilrush are warning that a heavy oil spill – on the main route to Ennis is making driving conditions particularly hazardous given the surface water already on the road.
There’s also further slippy conditions being reported near the Bridge on the Ennis Road in Corofin.
Gardaí in Ennistymon meanwhile also say the Ennistymon to Ennis road is flooded in places while there’s also a lot of surface water on the route between Ennistymon and Kilrush
Meanwhile in Limerick, the County Council say they’ve been forced to respond to a number of flooding incidents over the past 24 hours as a result of the severe weather.
They’re warning residents that water supplies in some areas may be affected.
