Clare County Council says water quality has improved because of the ongoing modifications to the treatment process.
However the local authority, the HSE and Irish Water say it remains unsuitable for drinking due to a high level of maganese – and that it is not yet at a good enough level to remove the restrictions.
The situation affects 1500 people and manager of the Kildysart Centra Michael Michaels says people are very frustrated.
