Clare residents are being urged to stay safe on water, on this the first Bank Holiday weekend of the year.
The St. Patrick's Day weekend has been blighted by tragedy all too often in recent times – Irish Water Safety says 40 children have drowned in preventable accidents in the past ten years.

And with many people set to take to the water for the first time in months this weekend, the group's Deputy CEO Roger Sweeney says it's important safety is to the fore of peoples' thinking.
