Water’s Back But Inchiquin Lake Remains Closed

Water has been restored for over 3,000 Clare residents.

The HSE, Irish Water and Clare County Council had enforced restrictions in Kildysart and Coolmean 25 days ago due to a high level of maganese in the water.

However a change in the treatment process has rectified this.

While in Ruan and Corofin the local authority has linked up with two alternative supplies to provide water to people served  by the Inchiquin lake supply.

However the lake remains closed to visitors due to an algal bloom there.

Senior Engineer with Clare County Sean Ward has the lates.
