But the ESB has advised the Government's National Coordination Group that around 16 thousand households are still without power – and may remain so for the next couple of days.
Here in Clare the figure for houses without power is expected to be reduced to below 300 by this evening.
People are asked to be extra vigilant and to check on elderly and vulnerable neighbours in areas which are still without power.
