A West Clare restauranteur is warning business people in the area to be on the alert for con artists attempting to change large amounts of small notes.
Imelda Burke of the Pantry in Kilkee says her company is down 300 euro after a woman came to the counter to pay for one item and then asked to change several 20 euro notes for 50s.

Gardaí are investigating, and Imelda says retailers need to be aware that there appears to be a group operating in the area.
